Psalm 71

Psalms in the world ... Psalm 71 So when the word "castle" came up in the Psalm I thought of this place, maybe (if you're from Somers) you would too. Castles though can be romantic vestiges of the past that give us a sense of place and meaning or they can also be symbols of power and sometimes excess. Truthfully, this is probably both of those if we think about it. A lot of people worked hard in the lumber industry of Somers but not everyone achieved the wealth and status of those who called this house a home. However, for us today, I think it is probably just a building, soon to be a business, that gives us a sense of belonging, permanence and a sense of where we live. Your own home can be that too. How do the walls and doors and windows and everything else of your home give you a sense of God's abiding protection and gift of place? How can you see, in buildings like this, but also in your own home, how God is your "crag and stronghold." May you be gifted with that reassurance today.
