Psalm 85

Psalms in the world ... Psalm 85

We continue with our Advent psalms taking place in the sanctuary of our church facility. There is a real beauty to the words of our psalmist this week - righteousness and peace kissing each other, steadfast love and faithfulness meeting. That would be a glorious day indeed!

Psalm 80

For the season of Advent, we're going to be recording our weekly "Psalms in the world" pieces in the sanctuary of the church. We will always feature the Advent Candles but the position and nature of the camera shot may change.

There is just something about Advent that belongs in the sanctuary. Hearing those time honored prophets, longing for God to enter in, the beauty of the royal blue against the wood and much more. We hope that this is meaningful to you as you experience these time honored words anew. May it indeed, as the psalmist today declares, restore us to God's purposes in the world.

This is the assigned Psalm for Reign of Christ Sunday (aka Christ the King). What does it mean to acknowledge Christ as the true ruler of our lives? How would we look at this area in which we live differently? How should we?

Psalms in the world ... Psalm 90

Today the psalmist talks about the way God has been a refuge from generation to generation. I thought reading his or her words overlooking the old Eidsvold Lutheran Church home was appropriate. We all have a spiritual birthplace. Where was yours.

Psalm 70 ... Psalms in the world

Psalms in the World ... Psalm 70

"Do not tarry O God" On this election day when there are hopes, dreams, fears, anxieties abounding in our world, isn't it good to know that the psalmist's plea this day is answered by God. God always seeks to enter into our midst! God always seeks to be one with us! God always moves into the neighborhood of our lives and embraces us. May you be reassured this day by these words, by this scene, by God entering in.

    Psalms in the World
These are all simple readings of the assigned Psalms for each Sunday.  They are read from a unique spot in our area and meant to inspire, comfort and perhaps challenge the faithful.
May you be so moved today!
