Psalms in the world

In this Psalm we have wonderfully evocative langauge talking about who we "sit" with in this life. I couldn't help but hear those words as describing the place where many faithful people have sat over the years, our sanctuary. It has certainly been a place where we have gone "in procession around your altar." And yet, we cannot do so this day. And so in the closing words I heard the beauty of our world as the place in which the glory of God abides. How do we hold those in tension? How to we long for a return to our sacred places while searching for new ones?

Today, on this beautiful afternoon, we join Rosella on her back deck to hear the words of the Psalmist as he/she describes the beauty of God's action in the world. The Psalmist declares that it is God who blesses us ... may we be forever thankful.
And if you have a spot from which you'd like to share a Psalm some week, let me know. I'd love to come out and video your special spot and visit with you. Or if you are a part of our online community and can video it yourself, then that would be great too. Psalms in the world - Psalm 67 |
