Luke 1:46-55

Psalms in the world ... Luke 1! We are getting closer and closer to Christmas. Children's Advent calendars have fewer and fewer chocolates in them. We're now lighting four candles on our Advent wreath. The signs are there. And yet, in this Psalm from Luke, we're hearing about a different kind of fulfillment than "sugar-plums" dancing in our heads. What does it mean to long for this kind of Savior? What does it mean to expect the Jesus of scripture rather than the Jesus of our imaginings? How do we long for God's joy to be fulfilled rather than just our own?
